Scripter for the Database Upgrade Manager (beta)This application provides a UI for the creation of a configuration directory for the Database Upgrade Manager (refer Configuration Details).It allows multiple scripts to be added and grouped into database transactions - this allows, for example, a block of scripts to be run based on a configuration option, where the first script in the block checks the configuration option and if not configured fails the transaction. Processing can then continue at the next transaction. Sensitive SQL scripts can be encrypted for transport (note that stored procedures encrypted with SQL Server's "with encryption" option are still accessible in clear text by a DBA and if used for source code protection this option should only be viewed as a deterrent). Details of the source scripts are saved between sessions. Request a beta copy - the beta version of the Scripter and the Database Upgrade Manager v1.2 are both free.
